PARSOL Member Review:
Prior to my experience with Dr. Weeks, I had been through three therapists. One admitted they were ill-equipped for my issues, one used shame as a tactic for change, and one was elderly and a bit out of touch.

After these experiences I was hesitant to trust anyone, even though it felt like my life hung in the balance. She immediately put me at ease with her demeanor; I wasn’t treated like a monster despite how I often felt as I was tossed through the criminal justice system.

Then, over the course of our patient-therapist relationship, she revealed her vast understanding of the complicated web PFRs weave for themselves as they get further and further down the rabbit hole towards their offense.

My experience with Dr. Weeks was both in a group setting and in one-on-one counseling. Within the group, she fostered healthy social connections amongst group members, gained and kept our trust, and shared insights from a data-backed, scientific perspective.

In one-on-one counseling, she met my needs by not putting me in a box as I struggled with the moral incongruence of my crimes and my Christian upbringing; she thoroughly understood and explained to me in relatable language how guilt and shame caused me to make poor choices and offend without excusing that behavior. She gave me the tools to recognize the patterns and change the behaviors that I needed.

Today, just a few days after officially being done with my time on ‘The List,’ and more than 10 years after first meeting her, I’d recommend Dr. Weeks without hesitation to anyone who finds themselves ensnared in the legal system or even if they’re just struggling with issues related to their sexuality as it relates to their morals.
